Course program

1. Course Structure and Delivery

Unlike traditional educational institutions, we have focused heavily on the comfort of the attendees of the program and their professional growth. Hence, the entire course structure and delivery methods are designed to optimize your learning in the most efficient way possible. We provide a blended approach of the classroom, practical and online training.

You can finish the entire course in a maximum of 18 months. The program begins with a carefully structured proportion of online and classroom training. The classroom training will be very useful for students who are interested in building a professional network with fellow classmates in the industry and with experienced trainers and faculty members.

Here are the modules and courses you will go through, as you proceed with the program:

    • Work effectively with students and colleagues

Support the behaviour of children and young people

  • Comply with legislative, policy and industrial requirements in the education environment
  • Contribute to the health and safety of children
  • Contribute to student education in all developmental domains
  • Assist in the implementation of planned education and programs
  • Contribute to the organisation and management of classroom or centre
  • Support the development of literacy and oral language skills
  • Support the development of numeracy skills
  • Support students with additional needs in the classroom environment
  • Work with diverse people
  • Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety

2. Elective Units

Elective units
  • Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
  • Participate in workplace health and safety
  • Supervise students outside the classroom
  • Reflect on and improve own professional practice
  • Provide first aid

Practical training is imperative to becoming an Education Support resource. You will get to acquire the necessary theoretical, legal and soft-skill concepts during the program. The practical training component will help you put these concepts to test and use in a practical setting. You are supposed to take up 120 hours of training in a relevant role at a recognized organization. Nursing Training will assist you in sourcing such opportunities. We also provide you with all the resources necessary to help you with professional development, including but not limited to resume reviews, networking opportunities and industry insights.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Fulfilment of the following criteria may indicate that you’re eligible for the program:

  • You have completed Level II or higher in the relevant subject area.
  • You have had over 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • You are a legally residing adult in Australia.
  • You are ready to undertake any necessary tests that examine your verbal, numerical and literacy skills to check your fit for the program.
  • You have the necessary access to a computer, internet and printing devices that can help you with the projects, assignments and online lectures.
  • You should be fit to get a background clearance certificate from the local Police.

4. Where will This Course Take You?

The course can open doors to several professional opportunities for you, including but not limited to:

  • Mobile early childhood service educator.

You can also continue with your academic training by pursuing one of the several certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses at Nursing Training that will build on the knowledge you have acquired with Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
